80, Pve, glyphs
19 11 2008After finally reaching 80 and to realize that no bg’s are up and the honor vendor hasn’t be applied yet was kinda of depressing. On the other hand this gives players some time to enjoy wotlk to it’s fullest. Doing all the new instances and finishing all the quest lines isn’t something I would have felt that I have time to do otherwise.
There is one big disappointment on the pve front which even makes me as a pvper sad, and that is that it’s to bloody easy. Did a naxxramas run yesterday and we would probably have cleared every wing if we were granted with some more time in there. We cleared 2 wings and up to Thaddius in abomination wing then someone had to hit the sack. So the conclusion is that it’s to easy. Killing bosses on first attempt isn’t even remotely fun, but the problem is that people have experience from nax 40-man. If you’ve cleared nax40 then you will burst in laughter at nax10 - normal. Heroics nerfed down to the ground baby, nothing is over-tuned and you can do it with 1 healer with even tho everyone has bad gear. I remember in burning crusade. I think doing heroic Shattered halls with green/blue gear pre nerfs was the biggest pve challenge I’ve ever had. Blizzard has catered the more casual population in wotlk, which I can fully understand.
All in all, Wotlk has been fun and blizzard has done well. I can not complain on anything except that it everything could be a tad bit harder =)
Regarding Feral PvP glyphs, from what I’ve seen and tested I’m prolly going to go with
Glyph of Shred - Increases damage by shred on stunned and incapacitated targets by 20%.
Glyph of Frenzid - regeneration - 20% more healing done to me while Frenzid is active.
Glyph of Innervate - Your innervate spell now grants you full mana regeneration while casting for 20 sec, in addition to the effect on the primary target. Innervate’s effect is instead increased by 20% if you are the primary target.
You will get 2 innervate looking buffs on you if you cast it on yourself. And you will get a innervate buff look alike if you give it to someone else. This helps you guard your innervate and it may confuse people with the dispelling. And the fact that it buffs innervate quite much aswell.

I totally agree with you. World of warcraft pve, is broke. I miss pretbc. I miss the 40 man raiding. About the glyphs, i use the same once on my druid.
Tho when im tankin, im using glyph of maul. If you are dpsing as feral druid, you can consider glyph of rip, and glyph of thorns:)
Nice to hear from you mate
hey Chrille if you ever do read this can you please send me an email, i have some questions to ask you
Thx,
Bruteeus
As for feral pvp i personally wouldnt pick frenzid or innervate at all.
Id pick Glyphs of rip or rejuv over frenzid due frenzied regen being only usable while staying on bear form and eating dmg, otherwise if im not getting hurted big time id be in cat getting extra healing from NI.
Rejuv glyph seems quite cool and adds up while being under 50 and with rip glyph against lvl 80 with decent pvp gear on high resi targets its roughly 1000-1500 more dmg? Not to mention its undispellable and great way to keep rogues off from stealth.(dunno how it scales on lvl 80 with gear since im not playing right now)
Glyph of rake sounds good but no idea how it works actually, If it limits moving speed to 100% like JoJ its still nice way to keep other druids and rogues off from fleeing with shapeshifting since its undispellable bleed.
Over innervate id defo go for HT glyph for those times when my healer would be controlled or in need for healing himself while being CS´ed etc.
We got something called nourish which is a 1.5s cast and gimping our ht with the glyph means that we don’t possess any big heals at all, so that’s not an option. Frenzid is awesome for group pvp since druid tends to get focused alot and it isn’t bad at 80 due to the hp pools we have. Then we have the last slot which can be rip, mangle or whatever you prefer but, having an innervate which allows people to channel and get it’s full effect is awesome imo.
Was just wondering what’s your take on the Mangle glyph for pvp? Let’s say for dual melee dps combo where the Frenzi glyph won’t be that usefull.
I enjoyed your writing style and I’ve added this blog to my RSS reader. Keep up the good work. Pitcher.
Hey Chrille,
Nice to see youre still up and running. I noticed your blog accidentally and wanted to say hi.
I also wanted to add my comment to your POV on the new Naxxramas.
As a oldschool 40man Naxxramas raider back in the days, I’m disappointed with the difficulty of the new Naxxramas as well. I fully understand Blizzard intentions (CASUAL KASUAL KASHUUWELLL), but it feels as such a waste of the best instance in WoW created up to this time IMO.
Anyway gd to read from you again.
Twinkles ^^
i’m the only one whos fucking sad about the pvp situation for ferals?

i thought something would change with wotlk but i still got my ass kicked by so many classes… maybe its because the big break i did but it really dissapoints me
Im trying to find a balance between pvp and pve for glyphs. atm im 75 and i use glyph of shred, glyph of healing touch and glyph of rejuvenation.
At 80 i’m thinking about going Shred, rip and maybe maul. Healing touch isnt needed then because of nourish.
I woulnd take glyph of rake because it causes mobs not beein able to flee. not a pvp glyph imo :p.
Any1 got an id if maul is worth while? when fighting double chars, berzerk mangle + maul in bear form might be quite usefull?
yas yas!
Frenzied regen isn’t a very good glyph for PvP. You are only going to get use out of this while in bear form, which means you need a healer helping you out. Any really good feral already knows to shift out of bear when big heals hit so that you can get a lot more healing out of them if you go back into bear immediately, so really it only helps with hots - even then it’s a glyph you can only use once every three minutes while you are doing nothing but soaking damage.
Mangle is a far superior glyph in my opinion - especially if you are doing a build built around shred. You don’t want to have to re-apply mangle often since you need that energy for shred or whatever else.
Rip is a fairly decent PvP glyph, since it boosts the overall damage of the ability and allows you more time to kite when it is up and use your CP for more important finishers (namely maim).
Mana is currently an issue but I really don’t see it being a big deal once the 50% shapeshifting reduction hits.
Actually frenzied regen glyph is very good for pvp from what ive experienced so far.
Currently I’m using Rip and Maul, also planning on adding Mangle to the mix.
Michelle…
