Savage Roar - Death Knights

29 11 2008

Neeeed … se ason 5 … can’t stand it … anymore.. argh…MOAR scripted Dragons plx!one!

I’m finally leveling my death knight now, and I have to say that it’s a very interesting class to say the least. The sheer amount of new spells and abilities are very appealing for a wow veteran, except that death knights are a bunch of x-mas tree’s! My druid needs to rest now after so many days if not weeks of hardcore playing and the fact that he looks like a PVER (omg). He’s technically as prepared as he possibly could get, except that I need to get a few more honor marks. So death knight it is between the raids.

My first impression of the death knight makes me wonder how viable the class actually can be. It feels both very powerful but also very weak. The death knight is probably the best peeling class in-game, but despite it’s peeling and snare power death knights are rather easy to kite.

Strengths, and this is just assumptions! I think every healing class that has to do channeling heals to maintain a high HPS will dread a dk.  Strangulate > Death Grip > Mindfreeze is a very very dangerous channel lockdown, and not to mention deathgrip a target los from it’s healer and burst him down. The target switches that you can do if you think outside the box are impressive in theory. Let’s say R/DK/P which probably will be a functional setup. Death grip > Shs-shadow dance-cheap shot combined with a mindblast sw:d combo from the priest. Just an example.

Weaknesess, also assumptions! I belive that the weakness of a death knight will be the same as a feral druid. When he is free to do his stuff = dangerous. However if you train him down and giving him a hard time to do what he’s best on then he will be in trouble. If his strength is to keep people of a weak target. a Priest or a hunter back on 70 e.g then the best solution in theory would be to sit on him. Cc-ing a Death Knight shouldn’t be any major problems, mages and druids will be able to toy with them. Their only ranged interupt = strangulate which is a 2 min cd. Death grip = blink away and travelform away.

Back to Ferals! I mentioned Savage Roar in my title, and it’s indeed what I’m going to write about. You may see this as a pve talent which can be compared to SnD (slice and dice), but SnD is more substained damage increase then Savage since it “only” effects WHITE attacks. Increased ap with 40% is rather insane since this boosts our YELLOW attacks aswell, which is alot of damage due to the nature of feral druids. Spike damage. If you have King of the Jungle then Tiger’s Fury grants 60 energy on use and it’s not a gcd, which allowes us to throw in savage roar at many ocations where a rogue never ever would use SnD.

On a player where you can consider yourself free to do damage then Pounce >  savage roar > tigers > mangle > shred or rip is the way to go. Can’t remember if you can possibly throw in a mangle before tigers since It’s so natural and I can’t be bothered to log in a check it out but it’s atleast an opener that I feel is very strong in the majority of scenarios. I would highly suggest to not use that opener on rogues tho ;)

Regarding some comments on regarding the glyphs. Glyph of mangle is something that I mean lets face it, it’s a pve glyph :P The positioning issue with shred doesn’t really make it worth to have a few seconds extra on the mangle debuff, the only good thing with it is more damage on our bleeds if you use it in combination with rip glyph or 2x Dreamwalker. The shred glyph however is really handy imo, especially if you team up with a rogue for example. The ones I mentioned in the previous posts are group pvp glyphs and also useful in pve for supporting to some extent. And dont forget that frenzid scales with stamina. 20% more healing + Survival insticts + battlemaster isnt to shabby ;)

I smell that a certain Druid / Mage on Stormscale Alliance named something with icemat… got critically raped by journalism at it’s best. ROFL, for those of you who know the top pvpers on stormscale alliance should definatly check out athene’s new video. Made my day. U SO PRO MATE

80, Pve, glyphs

19 11 2008

After finally reaching 80 and to realize that no bg’s are up and the honor vendor hasn’t be applied yet was kinda of depressing. On the other hand this gives players some time to enjoy wotlk to it’s fullest. Doing all the new instances and finishing all the quest lines isn’t something I would have felt that I have time to do otherwise.

There is one big disappointment on the pve front which even makes me as a pvper sad, and that is that it’s to bloody easy. Did a naxxramas run yesterday and we would probably have cleared every wing if we were granted with some more time in there. We cleared 2 wings and up to Thaddius in abomination wing then someone had to hit the sack. So the conclusion is that it’s to easy. Killing bosses on first attempt isn’t even remotely fun, but the problem is that people have experience from nax 40-man. If you’ve cleared nax40 then you will burst in laughter at nax10 - normal. Heroics nerfed down to the ground baby, nothing is over-tuned and you can do it with 1 healer with even tho everyone has bad gear. I remember in burning crusade. I think doing heroic Shattered halls with green/blue gear pre nerfs was the biggest pve challenge I’ve ever had. Blizzard has catered the more casual population in wotlk, which I can fully understand.

All in all, Wotlk has been fun and blizzard has done well. I can not complain on anything except that it everything could be a tad bit harder =)

Regarding Feral PvP glyphs, from what I’ve seen and tested I’m prolly going to go with

Glyph of Shred - Increases damage by shred on stunned and incapacitated targets by 20%.

Glyph of Frenzid - regeneration - 20% more healing done to me while Frenzid is active.

Glyph of Innervate - Your innervate spell now grants you full mana regeneration while casting for 20 sec, in addition to the effect on the primary target. Innervate’s effect is instead increased by 20% if you are the primary target.

You will get 2 innervate looking buffs on you if you cast it on yourself. And you will get a innervate buff look alike if you give it to someone else. This helps you guard your innervate and it may confuse people with the dispelling. And the fact that it buffs innervate quite much aswell.

Wotlk here we come o//

12 11 2008

I’ve finally decided to step out of the shadow’s, and now it’s time for some hardcore levling starting at midnight. It’s been a while since I did a post and I’m going to keep updating my blog now throughout wotlk if nothing else intercepts me, that would make it a big hassle which I do not hope!

It’s going to be very interesting to see how viable ferals will be at 80. Patch 3.0.2 was definitely a letdown arena wise but who knows? More hp benefits survival play-styles and speccs =).  Speaking of PvP, check out Sonny’s new movie under unapproved on wcm. Feral for once! The highlight of the movie is his use of shadowmeld which I was surprised now one had shown in any 3.0.2 movies yet. So yeah expect what you would expect when you read the patch notes regarding shadowmeld ;)

Btw, wordpress loves spacing for some reason. It’s not me spamming space between every word ><

Tr dueling today, the 13th

13 07 2008

For those of you who are interested in dueling me, I will be available from 18:00-19:00 today at the lake in Winterspring, on the EU tournament realm.

Edit: awesome no flightpath whatsoever xD. I’ll be outside ironforge instead :P

TR Duelling 12/6-13/6 / Trying to Qualify

6 07 2008

There has been some hot discussions going on whether is the real me playing on the TR or not, but if you see a character named Chrillz / Chrille alliance side then it’s me ;). The reason why I have 2 druids there is because I’m playing with 2 different teams who are trying to qualify. I still need a lot of resto practicing but it’s getting better and better. I’m starting to feel comfortable with it atleast, but when you come across top notch teams then you really feel like geez I wish I had more experience with it. Getting beaten by RMP as Dubble healer hunter is painful, but a full pve rogue glued to your ass isn’t exactly the easiest task there is for an inexperienced healer.

I’m playing with an other team aswell as I mentioned. And we play 3 different comps or actually 4:  RRD (feral/resto), RMD and RWD. I have to say that it’s a bit harder then I thought it would be to actually run these comps but then again, I’ve never played them before but it’s progressing. I just need to be able to play perfect every time. I can do some really good stuff from time to time with offensive cyclones charges etc but then again I can completely mess up like fakecasting to much or forget about their priest once in a while. In other words not sustained good playing but it will get better !

TR Duelling

I would also like to announce that that I will be available to duel for some hours the 12/6-13/6 on the TR. I’m however not sure how long the TR will be up but I will give you more information regarding time and location later this week.

LF 2v2 partner / Feral ignorance

6 07 2008

I’ve come to the level where I can’t take it anymore. There are way to many who just laugh at you for being what you are, you will never be accepted by the majority of people wherever you are. There is a small hope in the minority of people who actually got the guts to play something challanging and interesting, who also doesn’t mind loosing just because of the setup. I want to be able to overcome setups we shouldn’t beat, and you do that by mastering a setup! You just need to be devoted in what you are doing. I’ve had the fortune to play with Nately in season1, and I have to say that the teamplay we had back in the days was quite amazing. I could point out one million things that we did wrong now 1 year afterwards, but at that time we just outplayed them. Arena was new and not that attractive by that time but now it’s a different story, people aren’t running any scrub setups anymore but hey, you can still manage to do well if just maximize the possibilities with your comp! I’ve had Feral / SL lock at 2160 in the end of season3, and we played a 30 games tops. We were just improvising and it turned out to work really well.

Believe it or not, even though I’m a quite known player and people know that I don’t suck ass at playing feral I still have the same issues as any other feral out there. I haven’t had any serious team after Nately quit the game. I’ve had my glory days and we played together for good 1-2 months only. Where I want to come to is that if you got a teammate that wants to play with you as feral, for the love of god don’t ever get rid of him. And I’m not saying that I have dumped someone I’m just saying that think twice on what you are doing when you actually have someone or some that have the interest to play with you.

Looking for 2v2 teammate

If anyone that is on the blog happen to be a one hell of a Disc Priest or ShS rogue don’t hesitate to drop me a message. I could migrate to your server aswell, but you need be able to access the tournament realm for some test games first tho, if you aren’t from stormscale ;)

Edit: Found a teammate now! Thanks for the feedback / “applications”

Inactivity of the blog

22 06 2008

The reason behind the inactivity of the blog at the moment is because I’ve started to work, and it’s the kind of work that makes you that tired that you want to hit the sack as soon as possible to survive the next day :P. It will take me a good month or something before my body gets used to it. I’ve been to tired to post anything. A other reason has been that I’ve played conan at the same time as wow but I recently realized that conan isn’t anything for me! It doesn’t entertain me at all, sadly :’(

The end of season 3 is getting closer and closer, and it’s going to be interesting to see how the s4 gear will change the effectiveness of certain classes. The dubble melee setups are too damn good at the moment, and I hope the armor uppgrade will balance it out abit. It’s not fun to see priest going down within 10s. How about the new rating requirements for the gear? I will prolly keep on playing abit resto so I don’t have to wait to mid season to be able to obtain 2200 as feral, which is definitely dull. I do however have a nice project on frostmane. Back in the days I leveled a other druid a nelf druid to 51 I think. I’ve finally started to level it up and it should soon be 70. I’m named Chrillie there aswell ;). This gives me the chance to play with whoever I want to in the future when it comes to arena, but it also allowes me to play two specs at the same time without wasting alot of money for respeccing feral to do some battlegrounds or whatever. If you got a low level horde on frostmane and you’re levling it then watch out! I feed honor on everything I see!!

Edit: level 63

My thoughts regarding Conan

9 06 2008

I bought Age of Conan in hope of getting a new fresh gaming experience. I had very high hopes for this game from what I’ve seen and heared but after playing it for a good week it turned out to be way worse then I expected it to be. The game requires a lot from you computer and my graphic card actually got overheated by playing the game, but thank god that I ordered a new card before it happened o//. With my old graphic card I was running at around 20 tops at areas where it was rather empty, and I’m running with the lowest possible quality. With my 8800 GT it’s actually playable. 40-100 fps on “Low Quality” option.

What I like about the game is that the graphic as you may know is really good and that they have many well thought out functions and mechanics. Something that I really like is that they mark out the location of the quest items / goals on the map instead of having some retarded description like in Wow. I’ve spent way to many hours in total trying to locate the location due to a useless quest description, which really kills the “fun” in leveling.

The downside with this game as far as I’ve experience is that the gameplay is lacking. It’s not really that entertaining to fight even though the system is unique. The user interface isn’t really anything that I like in anyway, especially not the way buffs, unit frames and cast bars are placed

Definitely a let down in my opinion, but I will try to reach level 80 before the 30 days runs out so I can evaluate if it’s worth playing it or not. I don’t think that many WoW subscribers will leave Wow for Conan, atleast not when Wotlk hits. Wow tends to get boring once everything is achieved and done, but it’s still moderately entertaining to just do arenas and hang around with people in game.

Thanks alot for the header DVNO1 ;)

TFC7 finished

31 05 2008

I’ve finally completed this project and I have to say that I’m very pleased with the product. I strongly believe that it’s a better movie then TFC6 in many ways, and I hope that I won’t disappoint you ;). The only thing that this one lacks is humor, but I didn’t really find anything that fitted :<

It’s the usual deal, except that I got 3 or 4 Mage clips in it aswell.

Duels against:

Vaelisious - Destro lock
Noone - Frostmage using coldsnap

Finally out! Here is the link to Warcraftmovies: The Fat Cow 7

Enjoy !
